The Durham City Council will hold a public hearing on October 6, 2025, starting at 7 p.m. to hear the following requests:
Annexation
Heartland Park Subdivision (BDG2400007) contiguous voluntary annexation of three parcels of land totaling 12.999 acres located at 1021, 1105, and 1213 Doc Nichols Rd.
Landmark
The Chicken Hit (LD2500001) A request submitted Clairborne Scott and Preservation Durham for designation of The Chicken Hut as a local historic landmark. The property is located at 3019 Fayetteville St. and is within the Fayetteville Street Historic District.
Zoning Changes
Heartland Park Subdivision (Z24000010) change: Residential Rural (RR)and Falls/Jordan District B (F/J-B), County jurisdiction to Planned Development Residential 9.001 (PDR 9.001) and Falls/Jordan District B (F/J-B), City jurisdiction located at 1021, 1105, and 1213 Doc Nichols Rd.
Changes to the proposed actions may be made following the public hearing for each case.
