Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Announcement Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Announcement Florida Power & Light (FPL) is seeking firms to submit qualifications for a project at Miami International Airport (MIA). MIA intends to enhance the Central Garden area of the airport by adding eight (8) solar shade structures. Applicable solar shade structures will be provided by FPL. These units are stand-alone (no electrical interconnection work) and will require field assembly at the airport. The selected firm must lead and execute all permitting activity with appropriate AHJs, assemble and anchor solar shade structures, and perform general testing and commissioning activities. Responding firms will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Safety: Documentation of EMR <1.0 from workman's comp carrier 5+ yrs experience in electrical & mechanical installation / construction Performed work with Miami-Dade County in the past 5 years Familiar with permitting process and requirements in Miami-Dade County Referenced project experience of safe and efficient installation of on-site solar assets Knowledge of the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) Design Guideline Manual (DGM) Financial Stability Self-Performing or Subcontracting (Self-performing is preferable) Performance Bond Capacity ($1MM minimum) Insurance (ability to comply with requirements) Full RFQ documents may be obtained upon request by emailing Solarvantage@fpl.com. FPL will evaluate all responses received within 30 days from the date of this publication and select a minimum of three (3) qualified bidders to participate in a project-specific Request for Proposal (RFP).
