NOTICE OF PUBLIC AUCTION The Houston County Purchasing Department in Perry, Georgia will host a Surplus Auction on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. that will include Houston County Board of Commissioners vehicles, including tractors, and miscellaneous equipment. A current list of vehicles and equipment will be updated to the County's website as items are added. The county's website address is www.houstoncountyga.gov. Details and terms are listed below. Date and Time: Thurs., October 2, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at the Houston County Purchasing Warehouse, 2022 Kings Chapel Rd., Perry, GA 31069. Warehouse Doors open at 9:00 a.m. Auction begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. Registration: Will be the day of the auction from 9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. at the Houston County Purchasing Warehouse. Inspection: Wed., October 1st, 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. and Thurs., October 2nd, 9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. Anyone desiring to inspect said vehicles and other equipment will be able to do so on the above days and times ONLY. Severe Weather: Only severe weather will necessitate moving the auction to the rain date of Thurs., October 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. In the event of severe weather, please call the Purchasing Office at (478) 236-1700 to confirm whether the auction will proceed on this date. Terms of Sale: Cash and Business Checks Only (NO PERSONAL CHECKS) at time of sale. BUSINESS CHECKS TO BE APPROVED DURING REGISTRATION. Vehicles are not subject to sales tax at the time of payment. Vehicles are subject to the Title Ad Valorem Tax to be paid to the Tax Commissioner (for more information about the ad valorem tax, please call the Houston County Tax Commissioner). All other items subject to 7% sales tax. The Houston County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to accept, reject or negotiate any and all bids. Nothing is to be removed without a paid receipt, and all sales must be finalized by 3 p.m. the day of the auction. All property will be sold "As Is/Where Is". All items purchased must be removed from the premises by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3rd. Houston County will not be responsible for any "sold" items after close of auction.
