CITY OF BRADENTON NOTICE OF 30-DAY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD & PUBLIC HEARING FOR A SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT(CDBG) PROGRAM
The City of Bradenton is providing notice of a substantial amendment to its Community Development Block Grant program. A 30-day public comment period will begin September 14, 2025, and end October 14, 2025. A public hearing to gather citizen comments will be held at Bradenton City Hall in the City Council Chamber September 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The proposed plan will be reviewed at the Bradenton City Council on November 12, 2025.
The following CDBG funds will be reallocated to new activities:
2019-20 Housing Rehabilitation - $53,273.77
2020-21 Program Administration - $7,401.92
2020-21 Housing Rehabilitation -$10,221.32
2020-21 Habitat for Humanity Affordable Home Preservation - $9,730.85
2020-21 Code Enforcement - $14,203.03
2020-21 Program Income - $75,743.56
2021-22 Program Administration - $20,305.70
2021-22 Habitat for Humanity Affordable Home Preservation - $173,660.00
2021-22 COB Code Enforcement - $5,395.95
2021-22 Program Income - $34,747.76
2022-23 Program Administration - $54,022.94
2022-23 Salvation Army Homeless Prevention - $15,710.00
2022-23 Gulfcoast Legal Services - $7,595.00
2022-23 Habitat for Humanity Affordable Home Preservation - $124,439.65
2022-23 Meals on Wheels Senior Meals - $2.95
2022-23 Program Income - $67,682.21
2023-24 Program Administration - $23,856.15
2023-24 Code/Blight Enforcement Officer - $15,462.22
2023-24 Program Income - $7,150.28
The total available for reallocation: $723,335.30
The City of Bradenton proposes to reallocate these funds to the following projects:
The Salvation Army Generator - $200,000.00
CDBG funds will be used to purchase and install a generator to support emergency preparedness and ensure continued operation of services during power outages.
City of Bradenton, Public Works Lift Station Renovation - $523,335.30
CDBG funds will be used to renovate the city's Lift Station in Ward 4.
