View original fileNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS ON AMENDMENTS TO THE TEXT OF THE CO- LUMBUS ZONING ORDINANCE.
Notice is hereby given that the Council of Columbus, Georgia will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Septem- ber 16, 2025, at 9:00 AM in the Council Chambers (3111 Citizens Way) for the purpose of hearing interested parties relative to requested changes that will amend the Zoning Ordinance as follows:
Petition One – REZN-06-25-1190: A request to rezone 0.09 acres of land located at 2506 Riverside Drive. Current zoning is Residential Multifamily – 2 (RMF2). Proposed zoning Residential Multi- family – 1 (RMF1) with conditions. The proposed use is Single Family Residential. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommended Approval.
Petition Two – REZN-07-25-1262: A request to rezone 0.07 acres of land located at 109 23rd Street. Current zoning is Residential Multifamily – 2 (RMF2). Proposed zoning Single Family Residential 4 (SFR4). The proposed use is Single Family Residential. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommended Approval.
Petition Three – REZN-07-25-1264: A request to rezone 14.41 acres of land located at 5350 Veter- ans Parkway. Current zoning is Single Family Residential 3 (SFR3). Proposed zoning General Com- mercial (GC). The proposed use is Place of Worship with Commercial Coffee Shop. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommended Approval.
Petition Four – REZN-07-25-1303: A request to rezone 0.46 acres of land located at 2210 Wynnton Road. Current zoning is Neighborhood Commercial (NC). Proposed zoning General Commercial (GC). The proposed use is General Commercial. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Plan- ning Department recommended Approval.
Petition Five – EXCP-06-25-1138: A request for a Special Exception Use for 32.00 acres of land lo- cated at 7701 River Road. Current zoning is RE1 (Residential Estate 1) zoning district. The proposed use is to allow Places of Worship, 250 or more seat in the RE1 (Residential Estate 1) zoning district. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommended Approval.
Anyone wishing to speak in opposition to any of the zoning requests who has made campaign contributions aggregating $250.00 or more to a local official of the City of Columbus within the last two years must complete a “Disclosure of Campaign Contributions” form as required by Title 36, Chapter 67-A, Official Code of Georgia Annotated. This form must be filed with the Clerk of Council office at least five (5) calendar days prior to the public hearing. A form can be obtained from the Clerk of Council Office located on the 6th Floor of the Govern- ment Center.
