TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL TO CONSIDER CONDITIONAL ZONING APPLICATIONS
The Chapel Hill Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. to consider an agenda that includes the following two applications:
860 WEAVER DAIRY ROAD CONDITIONAL ZONING APPLICATION (PROJECT #CZD-24-8)
Thomas & Hutton, on behalf of contract purchaser Land Planning & Entitlements, LLC and property owner Ting Kuo Shieh, asked to rezone a 45-acre site located between Weaver Dairy Road and Interstate-40. The application is for a mixed-used development consisting of up to 710 apartments and townhomes and a commercial site to be reserved for future development. The rezoning affects the parcel identified as Orange County PIN 9880-56-4638. The site is currently zoned Mixed Use – Office/Institutional – 1 (MU-OI-1) and Residential-3 (R-3). Thomas & Hutton, on behalf contract purchaser NWR Development LLC and property owner Optimal Ventures LLC, asked to rezone a 19-acre site located between Eubanks Road and Interstate-40. The application is for a multifamily residential development consisting of up to 170 units. The rezoning affects the parcel identified as Orange County PIN 9870-99-7083. The site is currently zoned Community Commercial-Conditional Zoning District (CC-CZD) and Office/Institutional-1-Conditional Zoning District (OI-1-CZD). The proposed zoning district is Residential-6-Conditional Zoning District (R-6-CZD).
