The Whatcom County Planning Commission will host public hearings and work sessions on Thursday September 25, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. regarding: The Rural/Resource Lands proposal and the Urban Growth Area (UGA) and UGA Reserve proposals for the following UGAs: Bellingham, Ferndale, Lynden, Cherry Point UGAs. The UGA proposals also change Rural and Resource Land designations (e.g. Agriculture and Rural Forestry designations) adjacent to the UGAs. These proposals would modify the Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan as part of the periodic update required by the Growth Management Act. Associated modifications to the County zoning map and text will also be considered.
