Notice of Speed Limit Reduction Limits of Speed Reduction SR 161 / Meridian Ave., MP 29.70 to MP 30.0 Notice is hereby given by the Washington State Department of Transportation that the posted speed limit on the above listed route and mile posts noted will be reduced to a legal speed limit of 25 MPH and will be signed accordingly, scheduled to begin September 2025 through August 2027. These dates are tentative. Actual speed reduction will begin when signs are posted. The existing speed limit is in the table below: 30 MPH The speed reduction is necessary to ensure safe travel on a temporary roadway alignment. This speed reduction will remain in place until the temporary roadway alignment is no longer needed and the roadway is placed back onto the original alignment.
