PUBLIC NOTICE Please take notice that the San Benito County Water District (SBCWD) contemplates transferring or exchanging for return up to or in excess of 14,000 acre-feet of its Central Valley Project ("CVP") water supply allocation for the 2025-2026 water year from its contract with the United States Bureau of Reclamation. The quantity transferred will result in the transfer of more than 20 percent of the agency's contract supply, therefore this notice is provided in accordance with Section 3405(a)(2)(B) of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act (CVPIA). These types of historic, routine temporary transfers help provide supplemental water to agricultural users facing ongoing water supply shortages. Environmental review of these types of transfers has been completed, but the implementation of the transfer is subject to the acknowledgement of the Secretary of the Interior. Members of the public are invited to submit comments, ask questions or provide relevant information concerning the proposed transfer described in this notice.
