2025 Non-Ad Valorem Assessments Hearing
Tentative 2025 Millage Rate Hearing
Tentative FY 2025–2026 Budget Hearing
Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 5:01 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matters may be heard, the North River Fire District will conduct three (3) public hearings at 823 49th Street East, Palmetto, Florida 34221, on the following: (1) Adoption of the District's 2025 Non-Ad Valorem Assessments; (2) Adoption of the District's Tentative 2025 Millage Rate; and (3) Adoption of the District's Fiscal Year 2025–2026 Tentative Budget.
A copy of the agenda may be obtained at the District offices, 1225 14th Avenue West, Palmetto, Florida 34221, during normal business hours or accessed on the District's website.
The hearings are open to the public and will be conducted in accordance with Florida law governing independent special fire control districts.
The purpose of the first public hearing is for the District's Board of Fire Commissioners to hear testimony and evidence regarding the 2025 Non-Ad Valorem Assessments and to certify an assessment roll. Immediately following, the Board will conduct the second public hearing to consider the Tentative 2025 Millage Rate. Immediately after that, the Board will hold the third public hearing to hear testimony and evidence regarding the Fiscal Year 2025–2026 Tentative Budget.
Interested parties are encouraged to attend the public hearings in person or by agent, or to submit written comments prior to the date of the hearings.
No stenographic record by a certified court reporter will be made of this meeting. Any person wishing to appeal a decision of the North River Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which includes testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based. (F.S. 286.0105).
