NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The Borough of State College will receive and open sealed bids in Room 220 of the Municipal Bldg located at 243 S Allen Street, State College, PA 16801 on Oct. 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM for the following item(s):
PROJECT # SS222-01-2025 - CALDER WAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - PHASE 2
This project consists of complete utility infrastructure replacement and roadway reconstruction on Calder Way from South Atherton Street to Fraser Street, including pavement structure replacement, curb and curb/gutter, driveway aprons, ADA curb ramps, sanitary sewer main and lateral replacement, storm sewer improvements, waterline and water service replacements, gas line adjustments, conduit duct bank installation and all required appurtenances as shown on the Contract Drawings.
Bid Documents for the above-mentioned item(s) may be obtained at the office of the Borough Engineer. There is a $30 deposit fee for the forms. Deposit fee, refundable provided the bidder(s) and non-bidder(s) submits all forms (clean and intact) including plans, no later than the date and time of bid opening. Contractors may obtain bid packets from the Borough electronically, by calling 814-234-7140. Bidders who received plans and specifications from any place other than State College Borough MUST call the Borough 814-234-7140 to register as plan holders.
All bids are to be sealed and plainly marked on the outside, "BID ON PROJECT # SS222-01-2025", addressed to the Borough Manager, Thomas J. Fountaine, II, 243 South Allen Street, State College, PA 16801 and be in his possession prior to 11:00 AM, Oct. 7, 2025.
Each bid is to be accompanied by a non-collusion affidavit and a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid and made payable to the Borough of State College.
All bids will be presented to State College Borough Council at a public meeting. Borough Council may then accept or reject any or all bids or hold all bids for a period of 60 days from the date of Bid Opening before making a decision. Bids shall remain irrevocable for 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof unless award is delayed due to the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds, or the award of a grant or grants; in which case, bids shall be irrevocable for one hundred twenty days in compliance with Act 317 of 1978 approved Nov. 26, 1978.
