PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Land Use Ordinance Text Amendments Relating to Advisory Boards and Commissions
The Carrboro Town Council will hold a legislative public hearing on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 6:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as it can be heard, in Room 110 Carrboro Town Hall to receive public comment on a draft ordinance which if adopted would amend Article III of the Land Use Ordinance in the following ways. Planning Board and Board of Adjustment members would have a new annual training requirement. The membership of the Safe Routes to School Implementation Committee, a subcommittee of the Transportation, Mobility and Greenways Advisory Commission, would increase from four to six and require an association with at least one of the five public schools in Carrboro. In addition, the criteria for membership, and the powers and duties of the Climate and Environmental Advisory Commission would be modified to include sustainability, resilience, tree protection and urban forests, heat resilience and biodiversity.
Substantial changes in the proposed text amendment may be made following the receipt of comments made at the public hearing.
