REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: Management and Operations of the Pelican Landing Conference Center and City-Sponsored Events
City of Moss Point, Mississippi
The City of Moss Point, Mississippi (hereinafter referred to as "the City"), is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced contractors to manage the operations, maintenance, and event coordination for the Pelican Landing Conference Center (hereinafter referred to as "the Center") and various City-sponsored special events. The City aims to enhance the functionality, appeal, and overall success of both the Center and its public events through professional management and strategic planning.
The Pelican Landing Conference Center, located at 6217 MS-613, Moss Point, MS 39563, is a prominent venue overlooking the Escatawpa River. It serves as a hub for community gatherings, corporate meetings, social events, and weddings. The Center boasts a large main meeting room, a pre-function area, and a veranda. The City regularly hosts special events, such as the Hummingbird Festival and Smokin' The Sip BBQ Festival, aimed at promoting community engagement, tourism, and economic development. The selected contractor will play a pivotal role in maintaining the Center's facilities and ensuring the seamless execution of both private and City-sponsored events.
The primary goals and objectives of this RFP are to:
Enhance the operational efficiency and profitability of the Pelican Landing Conference Center.
Improve the overall experience for users of the Center and attendees of City-sponsored events.
Increase the visibility and utilization of the Center as a premier event venue in the region.
Effectively manage logistics, vendor relations, and marketing for City-sponsored events to maximize their impact and success.
Maintain the Center's facilities to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

Electronically – Proposals may also be submitted to Mrs. Donna Joseph, Director of Parks and Recreation at donna.joseph@cityofmosspoint.org . When submitting an electronic proposal, the proposal must be submitted in "pdf" format and shall contain the same information and forms as required for the paper proposals. When submitting a proposal electronically, the authorized signature may be a hand-written blue ink signature or an electronic signature. When proposals are submitted electronically, the exterior of the proposal envelope shall be deemed in compliance by including the same information as an attachment with electronic proposal submittal.
