NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED BUDGET AND PROPOSED TAX LEVIES FOR THE UPCOMING FISCAL YEAR 25-26 FOR THE CITY OF OCEAN SPRINGS The City of Ocean Springs will hold a public hearing on a proposed budget and proposed tax levies for FY 2025-2026 on September 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall Boardroom, 1018 Porter Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. The City of Ocean Springs is now operating with a projected to- tal budget revenue of $16,277,128.95 – 32% or $5,170,297.95 of such revenue is obtained through ad valorem taxes. For the up- coming fiscal year, the proposed budget has a total projected rev- enue of $17,206,526.50 of that amount - 36% or $6,244,655.00 is proposed to be financed through a total ad valorem tax levy. The decision to NOT increase the ad valorem tax millage rate for FY 2025-2026, above the current fiscal year’s ad valorem tax mill- age rate means you will not pay more in ad valorem taxes on your home, automobile tag, utilities, business fixtures, and equipment and rental real property, unless the assessed value of your proper- ty has increased for FY 2025-2026. A millage rate of 19.26 will produce the same amount of revenue from ad valorem taxes as was collected the prior year. The millage rate for the prior year was 23.05. Any citizen of the City of Ocean Springs is invited to attend this pub- lic hearing on the proposed budget and tax levies for FY 25-26 and will be allowed to speak for a reasonable amount of time and offer tangible evidence before any vote is taken.
