PUBLIC NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA LEXINGTON COUNTY Notice of Election: A Special Election in Lexington County will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, to fill the unexpired term of House of Representatives District #88. Registering to Vote: Only the electors living within House of Representatives District #88 boundaries of Lexington County, SC, may participate in this election. The last day to register to vote in person for this election is Friday, November 21, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. at the Lexington County Voter Registration Office. Voter registration by mail forms will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, November 24, 2025. Voter registration submitted online, by fax, or by email must be entered no later than Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Early Voting: Begins on Monday, December 8th, 2025, and ends on Friday, December 19th, 2025. The Early Voting center will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed Saturday and Sunday). Voters should remember to bring one of these IDs with them to the polling location. Voters without Photo ID can get one free of charge from the Department of Motor Vehicles or their county voter registration office. Voters who encounter an obstacle to getting a Photo ID should bring their paper voter registration card without a photo with them to their polling location. These voters can then sign an affidavit swearing to their identity and to their obstacle to obtaining a Photo ID and vote a provisional ballot. This ballot will count unless the county board of voter registration and elections has grounds to believe the affidavit is false. At 10:00 am on Friday, December 26, 2025 the Lexington County Board of Canvassers will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in this Election. This hearing will be held at the Lexington County Voter Registration and Elections Office, 605 W. Main Street, Ste. C, Lexington, SC 29072.
