PUBLIC NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA LEXINGTON COUNTY Notice of Election: A Primary Election in Lexington County will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, to fill the unexpired term of House of Representatives District #88. If a Runoff is necessary, a Runoff Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Registering to Vote: Only the electors living within House of Representatives District #88 boundaries of Lexington County, SC, may participate in this election. The last day to register to vote in person for this election is Friday, September 19, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. at the Lexington County Voter Registration Office. Voter registration by mail forms will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, September 22, 2025. Voter registration submitted online, by fax, or by email must be entered no later than Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Early Voting: Begins on Monday, October 6th, 2025, and ends on Friday, October 17th, 2025. The Early Voting center will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed Saturday and Sunday). Lexington County Voter Registration and Elections Office 605 West Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072 Voters will be asked to provide one of the following Photo IDs when voting in person. • S.C. Driver’s License o Includes standard License and REAL ID • S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles ID Card o Includes standard ID card and REAL ID o Includes SC Concealed Weapons Permit • S.C Voter Registration Card with Photo • Federal Military ID o Includes all Department of Defense Photo IDs and Veterans Affairs Benefits Card • U.S. Passport o Includes US Passport ID Card If you have one of these Photo IDs, you are ready to vote. Voters should remember to bring one of these IDs with them to the polling location. Voters without Photo ID can get one free of charge from the Department of Motor Vehicles or their county voter registration office. Voters who encounter an obstacle to getting a Photo ID should bring their paper voter registration card without a photo with them to their polling location. These voters can then sign an affidavit swearing to their identity and to their obstacle to obtaining a Photo ID and vote a provisional ballot. This ballot will count unless the county board of voter registration and elections has grounds to believe the affidavit is false. For more information on Photo ID, visit scVOTES.gov or contact your county board of voter registration and elections. Absentee Voting: Registered electors who cannot vote in person on the day of the election and/or who will be out of the county for the duration of early voting may be eligible to vote by absentee ballot. Completed applications must be returned no later than 5:00 p.m. on the eleventh day before the day of the election (Friday, October 10). C, Lexington, SC 29072 (Former Kroger Building) will begin its examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes. At 9:00 am on Thursday, October 23, 2025 the Lexington County Board of Canvassers will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in this Election. This hearing will be held at the Lexington County Voter Registration and Elections Office, 605 W. Main Street, Ste. C, Lexington, SC 29072. The following precincts and polling locations will be open during the election and possible runoffs from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Polling locations are subject to change under certain conditions. Voters can check their assigned polling location at scVOTES.gov before going to the polls on election day.
