NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ASSESSMENTS FOR THE
ARLINGTON TOURISM PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, CITY OF ARLINGTON, TEXAS PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF
CHAPTER 372, TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Arlington, Texas, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 101 W. Abram Street, Arlington, Texas, to receive public comment and consider the adoption of the updated Service and Assessment Plan (including a current budget), accepting the FY2026 Assessment Roll, levying the assessments for the Arlington Tourism Public Improvement District (the "District"), and requiring the payment of the assessments, pursuant to the Public Improvement District Assessment Act, Chapter 372, Texas Local Government Code, for the purpose of providing the funding for services and public improvements described below to serve the property designated within the District. At the public hearing, the City Council will hear and rule on any objections that are raised regarding the Service & Assessment Plan, Assessment Roll, and levying of assessments against hotel properties in the District. The District is entering year ten of a ten-year term. In accordance with the adopted Service & Assessment Plan, City Council will consider assessments against qualifying property in the District of two percent of the price paid to hotels for a room in a hotel. The general nature of the proposed public improvements and services are designed to enhance services, undertake certain improvements, in particular, special supplemental services relating to district marketing, business recruitment and promotional activities for the improvement and promotion of the District, including the provision of incentives to organizations to encourage them to bring their large and city-wide meetings to Arlington and to fund marketing to increase hotel stays within the City. The total cost of the noted public improvement projects and programs identified in the FY2026 Program Year is approximately $5,265,500. The boundaries of the District shall solely include non-contiguous hotel properties with 75 or more rooms, including hotels that are currently under development, within the City of Arlington. All written or oral objections will be considered at the public hearing.
