PUBLIC NOTICE Columbus Water Works, P.O. Box 1600, Columbus, Georgia, 31902, is required by the Federal General Pretreatment Regulations (40 CFR Part 403) to publish the list of industries in Columbus who were in Significant Noncompliance (SNC) with their wastewater discharge permits for the January – June 2025, reporting period. Significant Noncompliance is defined in City Ordinance #04-74. Listed below in alphabetical order are the industries in SNC. The following is a brief description of each industry requiring publication: (1) McCauley Propeller – Cessna Aircraft Company 5000 Cargo Drive Columbus, GA 31907 Violation: SNC for the Technical Review Criteria (TRC) for the following: Monthly limits for Chromium – 3 of the 6 – month reporting period exceeded permit limits that resulted in 50% non-compliance. Corrective Action: Cessna has increased its oversight which includes increased communications with the contractor responsible for operating the pretreatment system. Cessna will schedule regular monitoring updates and collaborative check-ins with the contractor to ensure the pretreatment system is operating correctly and results are within permitted limits.
