Any candidate seeking a political party's nomination for the 2025 Special Election for House Representative District 88 must file with the South Carolina Election Commission during the upcoming filing period. Lexington County Residence may file at the Lexington County Board of Voter Registration Office.

Filing opens August 29, 2025, 12:00 pm, and closes September 6, 2025, 12:00 pm

Weekdays: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed for legal holidays
Filing Form: The Statement of Intention of Candidacy & Party Pledge (SICPP) form required for filing is available in the "Candidate Information" section of scVOTES.gov and at the county elections office.
Filing Fee: Filing fee is $100.00. Filing fees are paid at the time of filing by candidates seeking the nomination of a party nominated by primary. The list of filing fees is available at scVOTES.gov and at the county elections office. Filing fee checks must be made payable to the appropriate state political party. Candidates seeking the nomination of a party nominating by convention do not pay a filing fee.
State Ethics Filings: Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission at ethics.sc.gov.
