CITY OF TUMWATER NOTICE TO SUBMIT YEAR 2026 LODGING TAX FUNDING APPLICATIONS The City of Tumwater invites agencies providing SERVICES THAT GENERATE TOURISM in Tumwater to submit lodging tax funding applications for the year 2026. New events and festivals in Tumwater are encouraged. Lodging tax funds can help with reimbursement costs for marketing and operation of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists to Tumwater. (RCW 67.28.080; RCW 67.28.1816) Applications are available at https://www.ci.tumwater.wa.us/departments/executive-department/lodging-tax-grant-fund. Completed applications and budget materials must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025. All documents submitted will be public records. Late, or incomplete applications will not be accepted. No lodging tax funds will be distributed for canceled events and festivals or for marketing organizations promoting their own organization, if they are unable to host events in 2026. Agencies that have submitted a complete application and met the application deadline will be contacted to schedule an interview before the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee tentatively scheduled to meet in September. The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will make funding recommendations to the Tumwater City Council as part of the current budget cycle. Successful applicants will be required to enter into an Agreement with the City, track tourism for their event/organization and submit a Final Report about tourism activities.
