­­­Notice of Public Hearing of the Planning Commission Notice is hereby given that the Pierce County Planning Commission will hold a regular meeting on August 26, 2025, at 9:30 AM at the Pierce County Public Services Bldg. The Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing on the below capital improvement plans: 2026-2031 Airports Capital Improvement Program (ACIP): The Airports Capital Improvement Program (ACIP), prepared by the Pierce County Planning & Public Works – Maintenance & Operations Division, is intended to augment the County's Capital Facilities Plan and Airport Master Plans for each airport by identifying the priority, scope, timing, and funding for Airport Division projects, including runways/taxiways, hangar facility repairs, and obstruction removal projects, over a six-year time span. A draft of the 2026-2031 ACIP will be available at https://www.piercecountywa.gov/1623/Airports. Contact: Mark Schumacher, Maintenance & Operations Division Manager, (253) 798-3097 2026-2031 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) & 2026-2039 Fourteen-Year Ferry Program: At the request of the Pierce County Planning and Public Works Department, pursuant to RCW 36.70.520, the Planning Commission will review the proposed TIP and Ferry Program. The projects in the TIP and Ferry Program have been included because of various strategic priority systems as well as input from county leadership, private individuals, citizen groups, local organizations, and other outside agencies. Projects include safety, new construction, road and bridge preservation, channelization, signalization, drainage projects, ferry, active transportation and other identified needed improvements. Contact: Windy Kruse, Senior Planner, Sewer Division, (253) 798-3092 2026-2031 Drinking Water Improvement Program (DWIP): The 2026-2031 Drinking Water Improvement Program (DWIP), prepared by Pierce County Planning & Public Works – Sewer & Water Division, is intended to augment the County's Capital Facilities Plan by identifying the priority, scope, timing, and funding for Water Utility projects including treatment, supply and distribution systems, over a six-year time span.
