NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Algona, Washington has issued a Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) for Ordinance #1257-25 regarding the updating of the Municipal Code regarding, among other things, development regulations in order to align the Code with House Bill 1220 as well as the City's recently-passed 2024 Comprehensive Plan.
The purpose of this notice is to invite testimony and to submit written evidence or information regarding the action. Such comments become part of the record. Upon completion of the hearing the Planning Commission shall forward its recommendation to the City Council. The decision of the City Council on this action may be appealed to the Hearing Examiner.

The SEPA responsible official has determined that this action does not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment and that the issuance of a Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) is appropriate. A copy of the draft legislation is available for review at City Hall and PDF copies can be requested. Any interested party may submit written comments on this proposal. Written comments on the DNS must be submitted to the City of Algona, 200 Washington Blvd, Algona, WA 98001 in person, by postal mail to the address above, or by email before 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2025.
This DNS is issued under WAC 197-11-340(2): the lead agency will not act on the proposal for 14 days from the date below. Comments must be received by: 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2025.
