Public Notice of Candidate Filing Town of Bluffton, SC The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County will be conducting a General Election on November 4, 2025 to fill two Town of Bluffton Town Council seats. Any person wishing to register to vote for this election must do so no later than: In-Person: 5 pm, October 3, 2025. Email, Fax, or Online: 11:59 pm, October 4, 2025. By Mail: Must be postmarked by October 6, 2025 The operating hours for the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County are: Beaufort Office 15 John Galt Rd, Beaufort, SC Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Bluffton Satellite Office 4819 Bluffton Pkwy, Bluffton, SC Wednesdays Only, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Temporary hours effective: September 22 – November 21, 2025 Monday - Friday Candidates must be an eligible voter within the Town of Bluffton town limits prior to the date of the election. Filing opens at noon, Friday, August 8, 2025 and closes noon, Friday, September 5, 2025. Filing Fee: Filing fees are paid at the time of filing. The filing fee for Town Council is $100. Citizens desiring to be a candidate for any Town Council seat may file at the Theodore D. Washington Municipal Building, 20 Bridge St, Bluffton, SC. Books will remain open during regular business hours until 12:00 noon on September 5, 2025. Filing Form: The Statement of Intention of Candidacy – Non-Partisan form required for filing is available in the "Candidate Filing" section of the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County website, http:// www.beaufortcountysc.gov/vote and at the Theodore D. Washington Municipal Building (Town of Bluffton Town Hall) at the address listed above. State Ethics Filings: Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.gov. Failure to file these documents may result in a candidate fine but will not disqualify a candidate from the election. Contact the State Ethics Commission for more information. Recommended filing procedure: Make an appointment with Town Clerk Marcia Hunter. Please complete & bring the required Statement of Intent of Candidacy – Nonpartisan form, government issued identification card, voter registration card and filing payment to appointment.
