NOTICE OF ADOPTION- 2025-2026 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
CITY OF BRADENTON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
The US Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded the City of Bradenton $447,763 in Entitlement Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to meet the housing and community development needs of low- and moderate-income persons for the 2025-26 program year. The Annual Action Plan outlines how the City intends to allocate CDBG funds to meet identified housing and community development needs during the 2025-2026 program year. The plan will be adopted by the Bradenton City Council on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Once approved, the Annual Action Plan will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by August 15, 2025.
2025-26 CDBG Projects
Meals on Wheels – Senior Meals $25,857.00
This program will provide low-income seniors in the City of Bradenton with a nutritionally balanced hot meal. At $6.76 a meal, this grant will provide 4,000 meals to at least 30 low-income seniors.
Step Up Suncoast $41,307.45
CDBG funds will be used to provide utility, rental, and mortgage assistance to up to 20 low- and moderate-income individuals and families in the City of Bradenton.
Habitat for Humanity – Affordable Home Ownership $106,566.73
This project will provide funding for property acquisition and rehabilitation of existing homes for resale to low- and moderate-income households.
Bradenton Police Department – Code/Blight Enforcement Officer $120,249.22
The goal of this program is to improve neighborhoods through addressing blighted properties through the use of criminal and civil code.
Family Resource Center-Youth Shelter Renewal Initiative $64,230.00
The goal of this program will be to make critical physical improvements to the SafePlace2B youth shelter facility.
City of Bradenton – Program Administration $89,552.60
The project will fund staff to operate and administer the CDBG program.
