Hauling and Disposal of Trench and Ditch Excavations
The City of Bellingham is requesting bids for hauling and disposal of spoils from street ditching, utility excavation, hydro excavations, and other repair activities involving excavations. The City encourages disadvantaged, minority, and
women-owned firms to respond.
Bid price must include all costs (including but not limited to base price, taxes, freight, permits, licenses, Washington State Hazard Tax, etc.) related and
customary to this type of product. All costs anticipated must be addressed in the bid. The current sales tax rate is 9%. Estimated annual quantities are for comparison only and are not to be taken as firm or guaranteed order quantities.
No increases will be allowed for the first year. Any price increases in future years must be substantiated with documentation from the manufacturer. Allowance for increases after the first year will be tied to the Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI-U, West Region 12 month average. https://www.bls.gov/regions/west/news-

The term of the bid shall be for one year with the option for four additional
one-year extensions upon mutual agreement of both parties.
Bids may be submitted in hard copy in a sealed envelope. Sealed bids must be received at the Purchasing office, located at 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham, WA 98225, no later than 11:00AM, Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Note on the
outside of the bid envelope, 48B-2025 Hauling and Disposal of Trench and Ditch Excavations.
The City reserves the right to postpone making the award for a reasonable length of time, to reject all proposals or parts of proposals as may be in the best interest of the City.
