NOTICE FOR THE
NOVEMBER 4th, 2025 TOWN
ELECTION
FILING OPENS AUGUST 22, 2025
AND ENDS SEPTEMBER 5, 2025.
The Horry County Election Commission will hold a General Election for the Town of Surfside Beach on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 to elect (3) Town Council Members. Polls will be open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Election Day. This is a nonpartisan election and no reference to party affiliation will be placed on the ballot.
Candidate Filing Opens Friday, August 22, 2025 at 12:00 noon and closes Friday, September 5, 2025 at 12:00 noon. Candidates may file in the town clerk's office at Town Hall, 210 US Hwy 17 S, Surfside Beach, and must be at least 18 years of age, registered electors, and a town resident for at least 30 days. Filing fees: Town Council $75. Walk in candidates are welcome during business hours while filing is open or by appointment scheduled with the town clerk. Filing will be open from 8:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Absentee Ballots. Absentee ballots must be requested from the Horry County Elections office (843.915.5440 You may vote early in person at Horry County Registration & Elections, 1515 4th Avenue, Conway, October 20th to October 31st from 8:30 to 5.
The County Election Commission will begin examining return-addressed absentee envelopes at 9:00 a.m. on Election Day in the Registration & Elections Office, 1515 4th Ave, Conway, SC. Precinct totals will be tallied and presented as unofficial results as soon after 7:00 p.m. as possible at the Elections Office in Conway.
Polling locations: Surfside #1 Dick M. Johnson Civic Center, 829 N Pine Drive, Surfside Beach. Surfside #2 Surfside United Methodist Church, 800 13th Ave N, Surfside Beach, Surfside #4 Lakewood Elem. School – 1675 Hwy 396, Surfside Beach
Qualifications for Voting: Last date to register to vote in the election is October 4, 2025. Surfside Beach electors must present a valid photo identification pursuant SC Code
7-13-710. Contact Horry County Board of Elections (843.915.5440), or visit www.scvotes.org to register.
Challenged Ballot/Certification Hearing will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 10:00 am, at the Registration & Elections Office, 1515 4th Ave, Conway SC 29526.
Successful Candidate. The three candidates who receive the highest votes will be deemed the winners.
