The Jones County Planning & Zoning Commission will meet on August 18, 2025, at 6 PM, at the Jones County Government Center, in the Charlotte Wilson Conference Room, to hear the following:
Item P-1: Paul L Cheves: Requests a conditional use to allow a single-family dwelling with metal siding. Property is located at 240C Plentitude Church Rd, and consists of 1.32 acres, zoned R-R (Rural Residential).
Item P-2: Leroy Mahoney: Requests a conditional use to allow a single-wide. Property is located at 505 Mountain Springs Rd, and consists of 2.01 +/- acres, zoned Ag-1 (Agricultural Rural).
Item P-3: Proposal by the Jones County Board of Commissioners to begin the text amendment process to create Sections 32(24), 73.13(9), and 96.7 of the Comprehensive Land Development Resolution. The purpose of this amendment is to allow data centers as a conditional use in the C-1 district.
The Board of Commissioners will hear their recommendations and make final decisions on September 2, 2025 at the same time and place.
