AND REQUEST FOR COMMENTS ON SCOPE OF EIS
Proposal: Walla Walla County Comprehensive Plan Periodic Review and Update
Proponent: Walla Walla County
Location: Walla Walla County, including all unincorporated areas, rural areas, natural resource lands, urban growth areas, and subareas.
Lead Agency: Walla Walla County, Community Development Department
EIS Required. The lead agency has determined this proposal is likely to have a significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is required under RCW 43.21C.030 (2)(c) and will be prepared.
An environmental checklist or other materials indicating likely environmental impacts can be reviewed at our offices.
The lead agency has identified the following areas for discussion in the EIS:
• Earth: Geology, Soils, Topography
• Water Quality: Groundwater, Runoff, Flooding
• Air Quality & Greenhouse Gas: Emissions, Pollutants
• Plants & Animals: Habitat, Special-Status Species, Migration
• Energy & Natural Resources: Energy sources
• Transportation: Traffic, Circulation, Transit Systems
• Land & Shoreline Use: Land uses, critical areas, shoreline management
• Population, Housing & Employment: Forecasted growth in housing units and jobs
• Environmental Health: Hazards, Noise
• Public Services & Utilities: Water, Sewer, Fire, Parks, Police, Schools
Scoping. Agencies, affected tribes, and members of the public are invited to comment on the scope of the EIS. You may comment on alternatives, mitigation measures, probable significant adverse impacts, and licenses or other approvals that may be required.

Appeal: Per WWCC 18.04.170, this determination may be appealed no later than fourteen days from the date of issue. WWCC Chapter 14.11 outlines the County's appeal procedure.
