[ORD-24-25] OF THE CITY OF BOISE CITY, IDAHO PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the city of Boise City, Idaho, adopted at its regular meeting of June 24th, 2025, that Ordinance No. [ORD-24-25] entitled: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING BOISE CITY CODE TITLE 7, CHAPTER 3, ARTICLE A; AMENDING THE TITLE OF THE ARTICLE; AMENDING THE TITLES OF THE SECTIONS; AMENDING THE PROHIBITION AGAINST PUBLIC CAMPING OR SLEEPING; AMENDING THE DEFINITION AND PROCEDURES FOR ENFORCEMENT; AMENDING THE PENALTY PROVISION OF THE ARTICLE TO PROVIDE FOR AN INFRACTION; AMENDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER 2, SECTION 3, DISORDERLY CONDUCT; AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND THE PROCEDURES FOR ENFORCEMENT; AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 7, ARTICLE A, SECTION 5, RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES; AMENDING THE PROHIBITION AGAINST CAMPING IN PARKS; AMENDING TITLE 6, CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE A, SECTION 11, EXTENDED PARKING PROHIBITED; ADDING THE PROHIBITION AGAINST PUBLIC CAMPING OR SLEEPING IN VEHICLES; PROVIDING FOR A WAIVER OF THE READING RULES; APPROVING A SUMMARY OF THE ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The ordinance amends the existing Boise City Code ("B.C.C.") Title 7, Chapter 3, Article A by amending the title of the article, the prohibition against public camping or sleeping, the procedures for enforcement, and creating an infraction penalty. The ordinance amends the existing B.C.C. Title 5, Chapter 2, Section 3 by amending the definition of disorderly conduct and modifying the procedures for enforcement. The ordinance amends the existing B.C.C. Title 7, Chapter 7, Article A, Section 5 by clarifying the prohibition against camping in public parks. The ordinance amends the existing B.C.C. Title 6, Chapter 10, Article A, Section 11 by adding the prohibition against publicly camping or sleeping in vehicles. The ordinance provides for a waiver of the reading rules, approves this ordinance summary, and establishes the effective date of the ordinance. The effective date of the ordinance is the date of its passage, approval, and publication. A copy of the full text of the ordinance is available at the City Clerk's office, 150 North Capitol Boulevard, in Boise, Idaho 83701.
