MACON WATER AUTHORITY SEWAGE SPILL A sanitary sewage spill occurred on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 2:15 pm until 11:52 pm at the Corbin Avenue Lift Station (2661 Pierce Avenue North). The cause of this major spill was due to a broken force main. MWA has contained the spill, and the force main has been repaired. The amount of the spill was determined to be 372,125 gallons, which entered the Ocmulgee River. Water quality testing of this site began on Friday, June 20, 2025, to determine the impact at upstream and downstream locations from the spill site. IPL0247965 Jun 25 2025
