PUBLIC NOTICE Unified Planning Work Program & Rural Planning Work Program Opportunity for Public Review and Comment 30–Day Public Notice June 17, 2025 to July 18, 2025 The Central Midlands Council of Governments (CMCOG) and the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (CMRTA) currently have the proposed -- FY 2025 – 2027 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) & FY 2025 – 2027 Rural Planning Work Program (RPWP) available for public review and comment. The UPWP provides a bi-annual planning work program that identifies the transportation and transit planning activities to be undertaken for the Columbia Area Transportation Study (COATS) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the urban area transit agency, the CMRTA. The RPWP provides a bi-annual planning work program that identifies the transportation and transit planning activities to be undertaken for the Central Midlands Council of Governments. These documents may be reviewed at the offices of CMCOG, located at 236 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210, and/or by appointment, at the CMRTA offices located at 3613 Lucius Road, Columbia, SC 29202, between the hours of 8:45 AM and 4:45 PM, Monday - Friday. These documents may also be reviewed on the CMCOG Internet website at www.centralmidlands.org. Accessible formats for individuals with disabilities can be made available on an as needed basis. Individuals requiring accessible formats should contact CMCOG immediately and allow not less than 10 working days from the date of the request to receive the materials in a format they can use. Individuals interested in the conduct of a public hearing to discuss the contents of the UPWP and/or the RPWP must submit a written request to the attention of Reginald Simmons at the CMCOG. Written requests for a public hearing must be received by CMCOG on or before the comment closing date at the address shown above. All written comments received shall, as applicable, be made as part of the CMCOG and/or CMRTA records of public input.
