NOTICE OF INTENT TO AMEND SCHOOL BOARD POLICIES AND OF A PUBLIC HEARING Pursuant to section 120.54 (3) (a) 1, Florida Statutes (2021), notice is hereby given by the School Board of Manatee County, Florida, that it intends to consider amending the following School Board Policies: Policies to be updated include the following: Bylaw 0131 - Legislative/Policymaking Bylaw 0164 - Notice of Regular Meetings Bylaw 0165 - School Board Meetings Bylaw 0165.2 - Regular Meetings Bylaw 0165.3 - Special and Emergency Meetings Bylaw 0166 - Exempt Meetings Policy 3430.07 - Military Leave Policy 4430.07 - Military Leave Policy 8305 - Information Security Policy 8431 - Preparedness for Toxic Hazard Policy 1430.03 – Sick Leave (Revised) The purpose of the requested amendment is to update the School Board Bylaw The School Board of Manatee County, Florida, gives notice of its intent to amend School Board Policies, and that it will hold a public hearing to which all persons are invited. DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, July 22, 2025, 5:30 p.m. LOCATION: 215 Manatee Ave West, Bradenton FL, 34205, Board Room Purpose and Effect: The purpose of the requested amendments is to update the following School Board Policies to conform to current legislation and eliminate redundant and obsolete language. The effect is that policies will be current and easier to understand and use. Policies will be electronically published, hyperlinked and keyword searchable.
